Frequently Asked Questions

How do you decide what to pay?+

Every offer starts with the live spot price for that metal on the day you come in, then factors in the item's purity and weight to find the pure metal content, and applies a transparent margin. Here's a worked example for a 14K gold ring:

Item weight
5.2 g
Purity (14K)
× 0.585
Pure gold content
= 3.042 g
Converted to troy oz
= 0.0978 oz t
Spot price (example)
× $2,400 / oz t
100% spot value
= $234.72
Our margin (example)
× 80%
Our offer
= $187.78

The spot price and margin above are illustrative. We use that day's live spot price and tell you the exact margin we're applying before we name a number.

Do I need an appointment?+

Yes. We don't operate a walk-in storefront — every visit is scheduled in advance, which keeps appointments private and lets us give you our full attention.

What do I need to bring?+

The items you'd like evaluated and a valid government-issued photo ID. Minnesota law requires photo ID for every precious metal transaction, no exceptions.

How do I get paid?+

Cash or check, your choice, paid the same day at your appointment once you accept an offer.

Is there a minimum?+

No. Bring a single ring or an entire collection — we'll evaluate whatever you have.

What if I just want it appraised?+

That's fine. We'll test and weigh your item and tell you what it is and what its metal is worth, with no obligation to sell. Note this is a melt-value read, not a formal certified appraisal for insurance or estate purposes.

Where are you located?+

We serve the Twin Cities metro. For the privacy and security of our sellers, we don't publish our meeting address — you'll receive the exact location in your appointment confirmation email.

Do you buy from anyone under 18?+

No. Sellers must be 18 or older, per Minnesota law.
